The Lewisham Awards

Congratulations to Michelle Moore from the French Café, who won the Crombie Lockwood Outstanding Waiter award.

As insurance broker to the Restaurant Association's members it was great to see some of our clients nominated and honoured for their outstanding commitment to hospitability at The Lewisham Awards held on the 2nd June, at SKYCITY Convention Centre.

The Lewisham Awards are Auckland's hospitality Oscars. The awards are named in honour of colourful hospitality entrepreneur Richard Lewisham who helped establish the modern day eating and drinking scene in the ‘City of Sails’. Each year, the hospitality community nominates and vote for their heroes, those who stand out and inspire.

The awards were opened by The Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband, which got most of the crowd on their feet for a boogie.  16 category winners were announced in the awards ceremony and as sponsor for the award ‘Outstanding Waiter’ Robert Martin, National Sales Manager, had the pleasure of announcing the winner, Michelle Moore from the French Café, who won the award for her outstanding service.

Congratulations again to all the nominees and category winners.  To see a list of the winners go to the Lewisham Foundation facebook page.
